The Gita contrasts the resolute intellect, which is one-pointed, with the scattered minds of the irresolute, whose branches are endless (2.41). The Yoga Sutras name vikalpa, imagination that has no object behind it, among the movements of the mind to be stilled. Viveka, discernment, is the faculty the card calls for, and the reversed card's will and project resemble sankalpa, one resolve held firmly.
