The Ace of Cups tarot card means feeling at its source: love, grace and emotional renewal offered as a gift. A hand from a cloud holds a golden chalice; a white dove brings down a wafer marked with a cross, five streams pour into a pond of water lilies, and drops fall on every side. A hand reaches out of a cloud with a golden chalice balanced on its open palm, five streams spilling into a lily pond while a white dove brings down a wafer. The Ace of Cups upright is a heart filled from a source larger than itself. Love may arrive as a new relationship, a reconciliation, a child, a friendship, or simply a season in which feeling flows again after a dry one. Waite calls the card the house of the true heart: joy, content, nourishment, abundance and fertility. Hold your palm open as the hand on the card does. Leave the cup ungripped, and take your time naming what has arrived; receive it, let it fill, and let the overflow reach the people around you. Creative work begun now carries feeling in it. When the card falls reversed, the cup is the same and the grace is the same; the hand is what changes. Waite's reversed reading is the house of the false heart, with change, instability and upheaval.
