Two poor travellers pass through falling snow beneath a stained-glass window set with five pentacles: a man on crutches with a bell at his neck and a barefoot woman in a shawl. The card is honest about the cold, and it also shows two things that are easy to miss: you are walking with someone, and a lit window full of coins stands just above your path. Five of Pentacles reversed meaning

Turned upside down, the Five of Pentacles has two readings to weigh against the question. Waite's reversed list is severe: disorder, chaos, discord and waste, which warns that careless spending or quarrels can deepen a difficulty. Most readers today take the reversal as the turn of the season: the worst passing, the travellers coming in from the snow, help finally accepted. Either way the repair runs in one direction. Bring order to one area first, usually the accounts or the daily routine, stop the most obvious leak, and say yes to the support that is being offered. Recovery on this card begins indoors, with the door you choose to open.
